My work explores the intangible element of the human form, the inner spirit. As the world is seen through the eyes, ears, and hands of one’s body, the inner soul becomes lost within the constructs of the physical world. Thus, my work explores what the material representation of internal feelings would transpire to as a singular form using colour, pattern, and texture. I am interested in creating works that unveil the clockwork behind the façade of the human structure to reveal the soul beneath.
My work, ‘Florence’ explores the connection between internal thought and exterior expression. The women’s physical form in conjunction with the radiation of colour works to represent both the structural and emotive aspects of her being. The flourishing connection between these aspects works co-dependently to create a unified image.
